Meet Our Student Leaders: Head Girl

Hello my name is Grace Marshall, and I am the recently appointed Head girl for 2021-2022. The competition for this post was incredibly tough and was hard to beat. As a result of this instead of just appointing 2 deputy heads this year there has been appointed 4 deputy heads. Along with this the level of prefects are incredible and I believe we have a very strong team. I am also exited to work with Pharrell who is the Head boy for 2021-2022.

Things I would like to introduce into the school includes school houses. Along with competitions and points to go towards your house, to win a cup at the end of the year. This is as I believe it will help with school spirits and bring years together for a collective goal. I would also like to do more fundraising events for departments and equipment in school as well as trips.  I hope that over the next year things get back to normal so that for the next academic year everything can get back on track and people can catch up on what they have missed out on and have some fun whilst dong it.

I would just like to say a well done to year 11 for completing their exams and coming so far in such difficult times. I’d also like to wish them good luck for where they are going in the future and I wish them the best for their results. I would also like to say a special thanks to Miss Dodd for organising the application process and the interviews. It was an amazing and challenging process which I thoroughly enjoyed so thank you for organising it.

Meet Our Student Leaders: Head Boy

Hello, I am Pharrell Ferguson. I’ve recently been given the role as Head Boy for (2021-2022).

Due to the high level of applications from all students, the teacher’s and other members of staff had such a difficult decision to make.

As a result of the incredibly tough selection, our Head Of Year decided to appoint 4 deputy heads.

There are a few things that I would like to introduce including more one to one access with teachers for the students that want revision\intervention time.

I would also like to request more events such as own clothes day in order to raise funds for educational trips and for department resources such as P.E, DT & Science.

I know the past year has been a very difficult one, however I hope for the very best this upcoming year and I hope things get back on track.

I would like to say a massive well done to the year 11’s for their perseverance and resilience throughout this past year. I wish them the best of luck in their exams and nothing but success in the future.

I would like to say a big “thank you” to Miss Clark (English Teacher) for her pleasant words and for having faith in my aspiration of becoming Head Boy. I would also like to give a special mention to Miss Dodd (English Teacher) for her leadership and hard working throughout the organisation of the interviews, the applications and other projects. We are truly grateful to have such esteemed teacher’s at Oasis Academy Arena :).
