We were proud to host triple Olympic and World Champion Gymnast Max Whitlock at Oasis Academy Arena. Max gave an inspiring talk to our year 9 students in their assembly, with insights about the life of an Olympic athlete.
There was also a Q&A session with our year 10 students where Max discussed the behind-the-scenes life of an athlete and how he has used his mental health to overcome nerves. Max also talked about the social media pressures before, during or after performances and how he was able to overcome these to be the best version of himself.
We were delighted to have Max join our year 8 group for their hockey lesson, as he ran dribbling and shooting drills with them. The students also had the chance to ask Max some questions and hold Max’s Tokyo Olympics gold medal!
Oasis Academy Arena students loved the opportunity to speak with an Olympic Champion and had their questions answered that they can take with them for the rest of their lives.
