Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Student Leadership

We feel it is important for our young people to feel empowered and have a say in how they feel aspects of the Academy should be run. Therefore, we offer are a wide range of opportunities for students to take on leadership roles.

Oasis Academy Arena has a Student Council consisting of elected representatives from every year group. These student leaders are led by the Head Girl and Boy, and Deputy Head Girl and Boy from KS4. We are very proud of them for the qualities that they bring to this position: responsibility, reliability, positivity, maturity, team-skills and a commitment to improving the life of the Academy.

The Student Council leads on a number of projects that benefit our Academy and wider community ranging from charity events to assisting with the transition of Year 6 students. They meet weekly to feedback student opinion to senior leaders, as well as exemplifying the highest standards to their peers through their appearance, attitude to learning and behaviour.

Our student leaders play a huge part in the running of the Academy and take their roles extremely seriously. They help to run many of our events, such as acting as ambassadors for the school at parents’ evenings, transition days, and when we have important visitors.

An important part of their role is communicating their work to students, staff and parents. This they do through assemblies, reporting at leadership team meetings, and various other meetings.
